Migori Youth registered vital 1-0 win over Darajani Gogo at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds
The fight for the team that gets to be crowned as the National Super League champions will move to the final round of the season, after second placed Murang’a Seal stunned leaders Shabana 2-1 at the St. Sebastian’s Park on Sunday afternoon.
Built up as a fixture that had the potential to have Shabana declared as the season champs, Seal, playing at home, and in front of a huge fan support, took the lead just inside the seventh minute - courtesy of a Fabian Adikiny goal.
It was two with nine minutes to halftime as Yusuf Ally doubled the scoring to see Vincent Nyaberi’s side take a 2-0 lead at the break.
Shabana pulled back in the second half through George Onyango, but the Glamour Boys couldn’t stage a comeback, stumbling to their fifth defeat this season in the process.
In another important tie on the day, Migori Youth made use of a weekend where Mara Sugar didn’t feature, as they closed down on the latter with a big 1-0 victory over Darajani Gogo at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi.
The all important goal was scored by Ernest Oyugi in the 47th minute.
The win takes their season tally to 56 points, just one behind third placed Mara Sugar who have played an extra game.
At the Moi Stadium, Kisumu All Stars registered their 11th win of the season after seeing out Kibera Black Stars 2-1 thanks to a brace from Devan Omondi, with Kelvin Mwangi scoring Kibera’s consolation in the 84th minute.
MCF FC took a leap to seventh position on the log after registering a 1-0 win over Gussi FC, as Mwatate United won 3-1 against Vihiga United at the Mumias Complex Stadium.
Mombasa Elite, in the last fixture of the day, were held to a 2-2 draw by Naivas FC, Kelwish John and Ken Mutembei strikes coming either side of a brace from Brian Mate.
