The Ugandan joins the backroom staff, transitioning into a technical role after a remarkable career on the pitch where we won titles including, the 2020-2021 FKFPL gong with Tusker.
His elevation comes at a pivotal moment, with the team preparing for a key home clash against Soy United this weekend as they look to keep their place in the promotion race.
Aloro will work alongside assistant coach Hamadi Said, the former United head coach who recently stepped into a supporting role, as the club seeks stability following the departure of head coach Gilbert Selebwa earlier this week.
Having been part of the playing squad since the start of teh second leg, Aloro now steps into a new responsibility within the dugout, bringing a wealth of experience gathered across both Kenya and Uganda.
His career began in Uganda, where he featured for sides such as Vipers SC, SC Villa, UPDF, and Rwenshama in the Uganda Premier League.
In Kenya, he has turned out for Sofapaka, Bandari, Shabana, and Tusker.
In a statement, the club underlined the thinking behind the move:
“His understanding of the game, leadership qualities, and familiarity with the club’s philosophy position him as a valuable addition to the coaching setup. The promotion reflects Mombasa United’s long-term vision of building a strong and cohesive structure by integrating individuals who embody the club’s identity and values.”
Speaking after his appointment, Aloro expressed both pride and ambition as he begins a new chapter in his football journey.
“It has always been my dream to step into coaching and continue contributing to the game beyond my playing career. I am grateful to the club for this opportunity and the trust they have shown in me,” he said.
“I am fully committed to helping the team grow, improve, and achieve greater heights. Together with the technical team and players, we will keep pushing to reach our objectives.”
