At Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga, Mombasa United lost 1-0 to Fortune Sacco.

Nick Kirui’s decisive first-half strike proved the difference in a contest, where the hosts displayed resilience and tactical discipline to secure maximum points.

The victory saw Fortune surge to 42 points, significantly boosting their promotion ambitions as they closed in on third-placed MOFA, who sit on 44 points.

For Mombasa United, the defeat represented a missed opportunity to stretch their lead at the top, with the Gilbert Selebwa-coached side remaining on 52 points, leaving the door open for second-placed Migori Youth, who still have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, at Thika Stadium, debutants Equity FC continued to underline their promotion credentials with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kabati Youth.

The win propelled the Bankers to 43 points, placing them firmly in the promotion mix, just one point behind MOFA.

For Kabati Youth, however, the defeat deepened their relegation concerns.

They remain precariously positioned just a point above the drop zone, with pressure mounting as the season edges closer to its climax.

At Mumboha Grounds, Luanda Villa produced a spirited display to edge past Nairobi City Stars in a tightly-contested encounter.

Denis Osumba emerged as the hero, netting the decisive goal in the second half to hand the hosts a crucial victory.

The result provided a significant boost to Luanda Villa’s survival hopes, lifting them four points clear of the relegation zone.

In contrast, Nairobi City Stars suffered a second consecutive defeat, a setback that further dents their promotion ambitions as they now trail the automatic promotion spots by eleven points.

Elsewhere, at Gusii Stadium, Gucha Stars returned to winning ways with a vital 1-0 triumph over Soy United.

The Sammy Okoth-coached side delivered a disciplined performance to secure all three points, strengthening their bid for survival and moving further clear of immediate danger.

For Soy United, the defeat compounded an already difficult run, extending their winless streak to seven matches.

The poor form continues to pile pressure on head coach Jeff Odongo, who faces an uphill task to steady the team and revive their faltering campaign.
