At the heart of the weekend’s fixtures lies a gripping contest for top-flight promotion, with Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA), Fortune Sacco, and Kibera Black Stars all firmly in contention.
Simultaneously, pressure mounts at the bottom of the table, where Mully Children Family (MCF) and Mwatate United continue their desperate fight to avoid relegation.

The 1:00 PM early kickoff will see MOFA host FC Talanta at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu, in what promises to be a pulsating encounter.
The Homa Bay-based side heads into the clash buoyed by a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Mwatate United last weekend, a result that significantly boosted their promotion credentials.
Currently sitting fifth on 56 points, the Charles Bruno-coached side understands the magnitude of the task ahead.
With as many as seven teams still in the hunt for promotion, any slip-up at this stage could prove costly.
Victory on Saturday would see MOFA climb to 59 points, potentially moving into third place, level on points with 3K FC.
Speaking ahead of the clash, experienced goalkeeper Gideon Ogweno emphasized the importance of composure and experience.
“It’s going to be a tough match against a side that has quality and experience and is also aiming for a strong finish. We’ll need to rely on our experience to secure maximum points,” he told Mozzart Sport.
However, FC Talanta will not be pushovers.
Despite a disappointing campaign that derailed their hopes of an immediate return to the FKF Premier League following relegation last season, the Jackson Gatheru-coached side is keen to finish strongly. Sitting 11th on 41 points, Talanta may have little at stake in terms of standings, but they remain a potential spoiler in the promotion race.
Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco will host Mwatate United at Wang’uru Stadium, with the Kirinyaga-based side seeking to solidify their push for top-flight football.
Under the guidance of Vincent Nyaberi, Fortune saw their momentum slowed by a 1-1 draw against Kibera Black Stars last weekend.
Nevertheless, they extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, and will be targeting a tenth consecutive game without defeat. With 50 points, a win would lift and keep them firmly in the promotion conversation, especially with a game in hand. However, any dropped points could prove damaging, potentially widening the gap between them and the top three.
For Mwatate United, the stakes could not be higher. Third from bottom with 24 points, they remain deeply entrenched in the relegation zone.
Under coach James Tole, the coastal side will be desperate to bounce back and secure a crucial victory that could lift them to 27 points, and strengthen their survival hopes.
The fixture also presents an opportunity to avenge their 3-1 defeat in the reverse encounter.
In another pivotal clash, Kibera Black Stars will host Gucha Stars at Gems Cambridge in Karen.
The Kibera-based outfit, currently seventh on 49 points, will be eager to return to winning ways after a 1-1 draw with Fortune Sacco stalled their progress.
Backed by Rubis Energy, Kibera Black Stars remain firmly in the promotion mix, and will view this match as an opportunity to close the gap on the leading pack. A win would take them to 52 points, and reinforce their position in the race.
Coach Iddi Badi will be particularly encouraged by his side’s three-match unbeaten run, and will be aiming to extend it further.
Gucha Stars, however, arrive under pressure. The league debutants have endured a difficult spell, going five matches without a win since their last victory on 22 March.
Coach Sammy Okoth faces the challenge of reviving a side that has struggled for form, collecting just a single point in their last six outings.
Sitting just six points above the relegation zone, the Kisii based side are far from safe, and will be eager to arrest their slide.
The final match of the day will see relegation-threatened Mully Children Family take on Soy United at Ndalani Complex.
MCF, currently second from bottom on 23 points, remains within touching distance of safety, but cannot afford further setbacks.
Under Francis Chege, MCF has shown signs of resilience, losing just once in their last six matches.
However, a four-match winless streak remains a concern. Victory on Saturday would lift them to 26 points, bringing them closer to escaping the drop zone.
Soy United, on the other hand, come into the fixture with ambitions of securing a respectable top-half finish in their return season in the second tier league.
Sitting ninth on 42 points, the Jeffers Odongo-coached side will be targeting their 13th win of the season.
Having won the reverse fixture 1-0, Soy will be keen to complete a double, while MCF eyes redemption in their fight for survival setting stage for a thriller.
