
NSL: Mathare United extend fine start after battering Gogo

Mathare United grabbed the second win of the season with an easy 2-0 win over Darajani Gogo in a match played at Hope Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Parmenas Ochola got the first initiative of the match in the 14th minute, heading Tony Odhiambo’s pinpoint delivery before Elli Asieche sealed all three points converting a Cliff Kasuti cross into Emmanuel Orwa’s net in the 84th minute.
The lose leaves Gogo without a win in the opening three matches of the season, further mounting more pressure on coach Caleb Aringa, who now finds his side placed second from bottom.
For Mathare, the win is a source of hope as it moves the former Kenya Premier League champions into third position joint on points with leaders Naivas and Mara Sugar though fall short on goal difference.
Mulembe United 2-1 MCF FC
A revamped Mulembe United recorded their first win of the season after edging Mully Children Family FC 2-1 staged at the Mumias Complex.
Goals from Ishamael Kaduka and Kepha Andati were enough for Mulembe to sink the out of form MCF FC and hand them a second defeat of the current campaign.
Mara Sugar 2-0 Kibera Black Stars
Mara Sugar strong start to the season continued as Francis Xavier charges secured a comfortable 2-0 win against the visiting Kibera Black Stars at the Awendo Green Stadium.
In his first start of the season, James Olweny had Mara ahead with twenty minutes before Philemon Nyakwaka sealed the sugarmen three points with a superb finish in the 66th minute.
The win leaves the club first joint on the table with seven points from three matches.
