MCF, on the other hand, failed to capitalise on home advantage and secure three points that could possibly turn their season around
Mid-week fixtures of the National Super League delivered interesting outcomes as promotion-chasing sides asserted their dominance, securing vital victories in two rescheduled fixtures played on Wednesday, 25 March.
The matches featured high-flying contenders 3K FC and Equity FC squaring off against relegation-threatened Gucha FC and Mully Children Family (MCF), respectively.
At Ndalani Complex, hosts Mully Children Family suffered yet another damaging blow to their survival hopes after falling 3-0 to a clinical Equity FC side.
The visitors, determined to solidify their push for an automatic promotion slot, approached the contest with intent and precision, leaving little room for error.
Goals from: Rashid Moyo, George Kamau, and Vinedine Ambetsa sealed a comprehensive victory for the side coached by John Kamara Mbezwa.
The result marked Equity’s first run of three consecutive wins this season, lifting them to 46 points and propelling them into third place, leapfrogging Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) in the standings.
For MCF, however, the defeat further deepened their woes, leaving them rooted at the bottom of the table with 14 points, as their fight for survival continues to slip further out of reach.
Meanwhile, at Gusii Stadium, 3K FC produced a composed and professional display to secure a 2-0 victory over hosts Gucha FC, underlining their growing credentials as serious promotion contenders.
Despite facing a determined Gucha side eager to distance themselves from the relegation zone, 3K FC maintained control for large spells of the encounter.
Their persistence paid off through goals from Mark Kithome and Samuel Wahinya, whose strikes ensured the visitors walked away with all three points.
The win sees the Nicodemus Omasete-coached side climb to 44 points, level with MOFA but occupying fourth place courtesy of a superior goal difference, further tightening the race for promotion.
On the other hand, Gucha FC were left to rue a missed opportunity to create breathing space from the lower end of the table, remaining 13th on 32 points after a setback that could prove costly in the survival battle.
