Now it gets nasty: Bayern ought to beat Frankfurt to stay on top

Two draws in a row, serious issues with finishing and lots of other wrong-doings cause worries among the Bavarians ahead of today's derby

Leipzig and Koln were seen to be bulldozed by the mighty Bavarian machine, but instead, Julian Nagelsmann's steamroller suffered difficulties on the way, winning only two out of possible six points.

They had the ball in their feet, dominated possession, created tons of clear-cut chances, but lousy finishing and too-complicated solutions in the last third took them to a disappointing two draws.

Now, they face 2022 UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt at Allianz Arena, but the stakes are really high.

After Friday's victory, RB Salzburg are only a point behind the Munich side, and the latter now must defeat the fourth-placed Bundesliga team to get their season back on track. Remind you, the Bavarians have won astonishing ten home titles in a row and surely won't settle with letting it go to any contender.

According to German media, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will retain his place as a starter, while Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane will be on the wings behind him. Coman was praised for his impact performance against Koln, and Nagelsmann confirmed he would start (almost certainly at the expense of Serge Gnabry) this Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the attacking midfield spot, it's almost guaranteed to be a toss-up between either Jamal Musiala or Thomas Muller.
