After Olympiacos, Vitor Pereira will work with Marinakis again, this time in Forest
What a mess owner Evangelos Marinakis has made of a club and a team that finished seventh in the Premier League last season, just two points short of reaching the Champions League. Marinakis was furious after the defeat to Chelsea in the final round and missing out on a top-five finish, and footage of the Greek businessman publicly reprimanding manager Nuno EspÃrito Santo went around the world. Fast forward to the start of the 2025/26 season. EspÃrito Santo remained in charge, but after just three rounds (four points from a possible nine), Marinakis dismissed him and swiftly appointed Ange Postecoglou. The Australian of Greek descent lasted only eight matches, and even at the time of his appointment it was clear that Postecoglou’s coaching philosophy was not compatible with the characteristics of Forest’s best players.
Vitor Pereira will be the fourth manager to take charge of @NFFC in 2025/26 🌳

Forest then hired Sean Dyche, known for his pragmatic, defensive style of football, only to sack the Englishman less than four months later. Dyche had taken over when Forest were 18th, two points adrift of safety, and lifted them to 17th place with a three-point cushion above the relegation zone. In other words, since the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign, Marinakis has behaved like a drunken millionaire, creating a real managerial mishmash. The newest one is VÃtor Pereira.
The former Wolverhampton, Porto, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos, Al Ahli, 1860 Munich, Shanghai, Corinthians, Flamengo, and Al Shabab coach has signed a deal for another 18 monts with a sole purpose to keep the club out of relegation. The Portuguese coach was dismissed by Wolverhampton in early November 2025 after failing to win any of his first ten matches. However, at the City Ground they hope Pereira can replicate last season’s magic, when he pulled Wolves out of the relegation zone and by April had built a comfortable 12-point cushion above 18th place. Wolverhampton finished the 2024/25 season in 16th place with 42 points. There are 12 rounds remaining, with 36 points still available, and a third of that total could be enough for survival. Still, nothing can be predicted with certainty, as 18th-placed West Ham are only three points behind.
