New day in EPL, new sacking: capricious Marinakis relieves Dyche of his duties

Nottingham Forest are looking for their fourth manager of the season, which would be the Premier League record
No Premier League side has ever had more than three managers in a season.
But that tradition has come to an end after Wednesday night, when Nottingham Forest sacked Sean Dyche, their third manager since the start of the season.
Forest were held to a goalless draw at their City Ground by bottom club Wolves, leaving them just three points above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 games remaining.
"Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach," a statement read.
"We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the club, and we wish them the best of luck in the future. We will be making no further comment at this time."
Dyche's sacking means that the Tricky Trees are searching for their fourth permanent boss of the season, having sacked Ange Postecoglou in October and Nuno Espirito Santo even before that in September.

According to BBC Sport, former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is a leading candidate to replace Dyche, having already worked under Forest's capricious owner, Evangelos Marinakis, at Greek club Olympiacos.
Pereira, 57, was credited for keeping Wolves in the Premier League last season, having joined mid-way through the campaign, but he was sacked in November with Wolves on two points from 10 matches.
Sean Dyche was sacked following just 114 days in charge, while Postecoglou lasted just 39 days in the job after replacing Nuno, who was sacked just three matches into the 2025-26 campaign.
