Orban, 22, could be a proper reinforcement for Hoffenheim, who are struggling to survive in the German top-flight

Bundesliga strugglers Hoffenheim have agreed on a deal with Olympique Lyon to sign Nigerian striker Gift Orban, reports football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Lyon was handed a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 in November, and to avoid the severe punishment, they were forced to sell their most valuable assets before the end of the season.

The 22-year-old African forward has been far from serious action at OL since arriving last January from Gent for a fee of €14m.

L'Equipe reported earlier this week that Hoffenheim had submitted a bid of €10m, close to OL's €12m valuation of the player. An agreement has now been reached and, apparently, only personal details are still left to be agreed for the Nigerian to complete the move to the Bundesliga.

Lens and Galatasaray had also been linked with a move for Orban, but it appears that the striker is now Germany-bound.
