After marking his debut for Kakamega Homeboyz with a goal, Congolese import Gaetan Masha wants to contribute to the title hunt by scoring more than five goals in the second leg of the season.

Masha who joined Homeboyz last week came off the bench to net on his debut when the league leaders battled Nairobi City Stars to a one-all draw at the Ruaraka Stadium on Monday.

The diminutive player headed into an empty net after George Odiwour picked him in the box but was unlucky not to add more from the open chances that presented his way in the dying minutes of the game.

Masha who has two goals this season revealed that he was seeking to add at least five more that he believes will inspire Homeboyz to their first league title. The Bernard Mwalala coached side sit at the summit with 33 points from sixteen rounds, four ahead of the second placed Kariobangi Sharks.

It was refreshing to score on debut and against one of the best teams in the league. I rose from the bench with the belief that I will score and thankfully, it didn’t take me long before kissing the back of the net. I have two goals thus far in the season and I will be seeking to score at least five from the remaining bit of the campaign,” he said.

Masha who had been out of action for close to two months after falling out with the Nzoia management in the meantime is elated to be back on the pitch. The midfielder bitterly left the Nzoia camp two months ago after failing to agree on issues he termed personal but he says he is ready to serve Homeboyz, his second top flight since arriving in Kenya.

Homeboyz who are set to host Nzoia in their next game in the coming month have completed the acquisition of Evans Maliachi from FC Talanta and are said to be in the hunt for a handful of new players.
