New drama in Barcelona: Kounde wants to leave Camp Nou?

Barcelona became La Liga champion against all odds, mainly financial ones. The Catalans had to sell some of it's property, buy free agent footballers and balance the books in order to be financial potent and comply with the league financial rules. Now, after the successful season, a potential Lionel Messi transfer is in the works, and Barcelona continues to deal with the financial difficulties. Coach Xavi has a list of transfers, but some players will need to leave as well. One of them is Jules Kounde, but it's not because Xavi wants it like that, but because the Frenchman is not satisfied.

Former Seville defender signed for Barca in a 50 million euros transfer, but just after a year, he could be on the market again, and it's not because of his performances. With 38 games played in all competition for Xavi, one could say he is a first team regular, but the problem is – he is not playing at his favorite position. At the start of the season, Kounde was projected to be a central defender, a position he is very satisfied with, while Hector Bellerin and Sergi Roberto were peniciled at right back. But, former Arsenal man didn't perform as expected and left the club last January, while Sergi Roberto is a reconverted footballer and for that position he works well in the offensive phase, but not so much in defense.

So, Xavi asked Kounde to play at right back, and the Frenchman did an excellent job, but now, when the season is almost over, he is at the crossroads, since his coach doesn't want to bring him back to the central defender position. In fact, he did such a good job, that when asked about the potential signings at the right back position, Xavi answered "It is not a priority reinforcement". Kounde didn't like his coach's words as he already informed him he is not fond of playing as a full back. He is so determined that he informed the club that he is willing to listen to offers from to other clubs. A transfer deal for Kounde is not out of the question at all, but on the other hand, maybe this determination from the player will force Xavi to act and get another right back.
