Police must overturn last week’s narrow defeat at the Ulinzi Sports Complex to secure a historic place in the group stage which comes with a Ksh 90 million windfall from CAF.

Kenya Police FC coach Etienne Ndiyaragijje remains upbeat ahead of Friday evening’s CAF Champions League second round return leg against Sudan’s Al Hilal in Benghazi, Libya, despite trailing 1–0 from the first leg.

The law enforcers face a daunting task at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium, where they must overturn last week’s narrow defeat at the Ulinzi Sports Complex to secure a historic place in the group stage, which comes with a KSh 90 million windfall from CAF.

Despite the odds, the Burundian tactician believes his side still has what it takes to stun the Sudanese giants.

“With God, anything is possible. To our fans back home, I urge you to keep supporting us in prayer. I’m confident we’ll get a favorable result,” he said.

Ndiyaragijje noted that his players are in high spirits and fully aware of what is at stake, expressing confidence in their focus and motivation ahead of the decisive clash.

“The players are in high spirits. We’ve prepared them well, and they fully understand the importance of this game. They know why we’re here, and I can confidently say they’re all motivated and ready,” he added.

The coach further revealed that the team has enjoyed smooth preparations and is set to have a final training session at the match venue to fine-tune tactics before kickoff.

“Our preparation has been good. We’ll have our final training session at the match venue to assess how ready we are, and I’m hopeful everything will go as planned.”

Ndiyaragijje also confirmed that his entire squad is available for selection, with no injury concerns reported.

“We travelled in three groups, but everyone has arrived safely. So far, we have no injuries, and we thank God for that.”

Police advanced to the second round after eliminating Mogadishu City Club of Somalia, and a victory on Friday would see them become the first Kenyan club to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage.
