Nairobi United will look to regroup and rediscover their scoring form ahead of their next league fixture against Murang’a Seal FC

Nairobi United head coach Nicholas Muyoti has admitted that his team conceded easy goals and struggled to finish their chances in Monday’s 2–0 defeat to Posta Rangers at the Kasarani Annex.

The result marked Naibois’ second consecutive loss- and fourth in eight league games-following last Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Mathare United.

Posta Rangers, under new head coach Charles Omondi, maintained a perfect record since his appointment, with goals from Jackson Dwang and Brian Otieno proving decisive.

Muyoti acknowledged that, although goalkeeper Kevin Oduor could have done better, the defensive line also failed to prevent the opponents from exploiting space and taking long-range shots.

“We let in easy goals; it is not just about the keeper. The defence also let us down. Some goals could have been prevented with pressing, but we gave them space to shoot, which caused problems. If we had pressed, it might have been a different story,” conceded Muyoti.

Reflecting on the team’s overall performance, Muyoti admitted that Nairobi United did not fully execute their game plan, with finishing becoming a recurring concern.

“We did not execute our plan fully, but we dominated and created many chances. We could not convert them, so we will go back to the drawing board and encourage the boys to improve. We must give the players the confidence to score,” he said.

He praised Posta Rangers for being clinical in front of goal. “We need to start scoring. We create opportunities, but until we convert them, wins will remain elusive. Congratulations to Posta, they capitalised on their chances,” he added.

Addressing speculation that the team may be fatigued due to CAF Confederation Cup commitments, Muyoti dismissed the notion, stressing that his players are physically capable of balancing the two assignments.

“I cannot blame fatigue from CAF games. We played well and created chances, but we failed to finish. We hit the post, the keeper made remarkable saves, and that was the difference. Our main focus now is to turn chances into goals,” he said.
