Up next for the brewers is a tie against Sofapaka on Saturday at the Machakos Stadium.
Tusker creative midfielder Joseph Mwangi joined the club in the off-season transfer window on the back of being the best scorer at Nzoia Sugar in the past season.
Mwangi scored 14 goals last season and had more than five assists, attracting the attention of Tusker, the Gor Mahia AFC Leopards, and other clubs in the country.
Tusker beat all the interested clubs to his signature and handed the midfielder, who also earned his first Harambee Stars call-up last season, a two-year-long deal.
Mwangi hasn't had the best start of life in Ruaraka, as he has yet to open his goal account at the club, seven rounds into the new season.
The rocky start has left the skillful midfielder with the pressure of scoring his first goal for the club on his shoulders to deal with.
It has not been the best start for the club either, as there are only two wins and two draws to show in seven matches. Tusker has been winless in the last three league rounds.
"I badly want to score my first goal at Tusker. I have been working for it, but luck hasn't been on my side. I am sure once I open the account, more deposits will follow," he conceded.
Mwangi's hunger for the first goal of the season is expected to stretch for a while after suffering a hamstring injury in training.
He is therefore expected to miss this weekend's match against Sofapaka, who are brimming with confidence after beating the star-studded Kenya Police 1-0 last weekend.
"I will not be available for selection this weekend due to an injury. I am, however, optimistic about scoring once I return," he stated.
