The bankers are looking to get back to winning ways when they take on Kakamega Homeboyz on Wednesday

KCB FC head coach Bernard Mwalala is content with his side’s performance despite playing for a goalless draw against Bandari FC in their previous FKF Premier League match played at the Moi International Stadium Kasarani on Sunday 24 September.

In an exclusive interview with Mozzart Sports, the former Kakamega Homeboyz tactician noted that the side registered an improved performance from the previous matches in terms of individual brilliance.

He further explained that despite sharing spoils with Bandari, his charges were not under any pressure, as the league just kicked off.

KCB currently sit 12th on the log with four points after managing a win against AFC Leopards in the season-opening fixture, a loss to Kariobangi Sharks and a draw against Bandari in the opening three matches.

"I was happy with the draw because one thing I was looking at was individual performance. In the first two matches, my players did not perform at their best. We had a good game and created spaces. Sometimes when you lose, draw or win, you have to look at how that happened. The draw was an improvement from the previous games," he offered.

The Bankers will tackle rivals Kakamega Homeboyz in their fourth league match on Wednesday 26 September.

Coach Mwalala remains optimistic that despite being away, his charges would impress. He will also be looking to include the services of key players who were resting after suffering injuries in their second league match against Kariobangi Sharks.

"Going forward, when we face Kakamega Homeboyz, we will be looking to utilize the spaces we have. The players who rested will be coming back in tomorrow's match against Kakamega Homeboyz. There will be changes in the defense, and everybody else is ready to fight for a win," he said adding that there is no cause for alarm, insisting that the league was just getting started, and the team would find their footing soon.

"Being in that position does not give me pressure. We have four points after three games, but that is not an issue. That gives us a chance to perform better this season," he concluded.

Following their clash against Kakamega Homeboyz, the Bankers will face Gor Mahia in an arguably challenging match on Sunday, 1 October at 3pm.
