The central attacking midfielder joined Nzoia last year from Bullets

Nzoia Sugar central attacking midfielder Boniface Munyendo is satisfied with the way he has fared thus far in his maiden season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Munyendo joined the sugar millers in October last year from Vihiga Bullets on a three-year long contract and despite being his first season in the top flight, he has established himself as a key player in the club.

Nzoia were forced to reinforce their squad before the season began after losing a handful of first team players who exited in search for greener pastures.

Already, the midfielder is said to have attracted offers from a host of well paying clubs who have been impressed with his ability to carry the ball forward and in covering the defence at times.

The penalty specialist said his ability to pass the ball with precision, long range passes and pressing to recover possession had improved since joining the club and will definitely finish the season a better player than he joined.

"I have never imagined I would have a great season in my first term. I have played as many matches as I wished, earned the trust from the technical bench and most importantly, scored goals and created others. I have been enjoying football and I feel I have grown in leaps and bounds. I have learnt a lot and will continue embracing growth for me to attain my goals," he said.

Munyendo who partners Kenyan international Kevin Juma in midfield while reacting to the suggestion that his performance in the first season at the top flight was enough to procure him deals remained tight-lipped but acknowledged that he was a player on demand.

"A good number of teams have expressed interests but that chapter will be opened and discussed when the window is opened. For now, I am focused on our remaining matches," he clarified.

Munyendo joined Bullets in 2019 from Bungoma Superstars.
