It sounds surreal, almost impossible, but who knows...
Big news out of Turkey this morning: Jose Mourinho is out at Fenerbahce after a disastrous spell, and the Istanbul giants are scrambling to find a high-profile replacement.
And the name linked? None other than Zinedine Zidane.
According to Sabah, Fener are already in advanced talks with the French legend, with reports even suggesting a preliminary agreement has been reached.

That's a huge surprise. Zidane has turned down offers from bigger clubs in recent years, largely because he's been waiting for his dream job - managing the French national team. With Didier Deschamps expected to step down after the 2026 World Cup, that chance could come soon.
One theory is that Zidane could agree to a short-term deal in Istanbul - one year at Fenerbahce before moving on to Les Bleus next year. Still, just the idea of him taking over in Turkey is enough to raise eyebrows across Europe.
Zidane's resume speaks for itself: only ever coached Real Madrid, yet racked up three Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, two UEFA Super Cups, two FIFA Club World Cups, and two Spanish Super Cups. Despite that haul, he's often left out of debates about the greatest managers of the 21st century - a point that suddenly feels relevant again.
For now, Fenerbahce are keeping their options open. They've already sounded out Luciano Spalletti and Ange Postecoglou, but both declined. If Zidane really does say yes, though, it would be one of the biggest managerial shocks of the year.
