Most faithful son kills Giallorossi: De Rossi's Genoa stun Roma to ruin their UCL hopes

Cesc Fabregas's Como is now fourth, knocking on the elite's doors
Last week, Roma were ahead 3-1 against Juventus late in the match, but they let in two goals and had to settle for a draw. This missed win could have helped their chances for the Champions League.
On Sunday night, Gian Pierro Gasperini's team fell further behind after a 2-1 loss to struggling Genoa. The home team, led by former Roma star Daniele De Rossi, pulled off an upset and pushed the visitors down to fifth place. Cesc Fabregas’s Como also have 51 points but a better goal difference.
The match was not very exciting, with only a few chances for both teams. The home side took the lead with a penalty from Junior Messias, but the visitors answered just three minutes later. Ivorian defender Evan Ndicka scored with a header to tie the game at 1-1, leaving plenty of time to play.
Just when it looked like Roma would push for a win, Genoa scored again. Second-half substitute Vitinha was left unmarked in Svilar’s box and scored an easy tap-in.
This goal could be important for Genoa as they try to stay in Serie A. They are now six points ahead of 18th-placed Cremonese and have good reasons to feel hopeful for the rest of the season.
