Tobias Otieno suffered heavy defeat against his former employer

Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama was introduced in the second half of Montreal’s 4-1 win over the Portland Timbers in a Major League Soccer game played on Sunday morning at the Saputo Stadium.

Wanyama came on in the 80th minute for Nathan Saliba ten minutes to the final whistle, as Montreal sought to reinforce their back line and protect the lead.

Sunusi Ibrahim gave Montreal the lead in the 26th minute before Kwadwo Opoku doubled the advantage minutes later.

Mathieu Choiniere added the third for the hosts in the 64th minute, before Mason Toye netted the fourth in the 76th minute.

Fortune Boli gave the visiting team something to smile about after pulling one back in the 86th minute.

While Wanyama had a good morning, his compatriot Tobias Otieno was on the receiving end of a beating as his side, Tormenta, fell 4-0 to Union Omaha in a USL League One game played at the Optim Sports Medicine Field.

Interestingly, Otieno, who clocked full time, ditched Omaha for Tormenta in February last year.

Goals from Steevan Dos Santos,Noe Meza,Lagos Kunga and Joseph Brito settled the contest.

It wasn't a pleasing outing for Stars centre back Joseph Okumu as Reims fell to Eliot Matazo’s Monaco 3-1 in a French League 1 game played on Saturday evening.

Ismail Jacobs,Folarin Balogun, and Wissam Ben Yedder were on target for the visitors, with Teddy Teuma’s own goal earning Reims the consolation.

Okumu clocked full time while Matazo was an unused substitute.
