At the heart of the day’s action are crucial encounters involving league leaders Mombasa United and promotion-chasing sides including Equity FC, 3K FC, Kibera Black Stars, Naivas FC, and FC Talanta, all of whom remain firmly in contention as the race for FKF Premier League promotion gathers momentum.

The standout fixture will see third-placed Equity FC host FC Talanta at Mashuuru Complex in Kajiado in what promises to be a pulsating contest.

Equity FC have been one of the standout performers in their maiden NSL campaign.

The Bankers have taken the league by storm with a string of impressive results, climbing to third place with 49 points, just three behind second-placed Migori Youth.

Under the guidance of coach John Kamara, Equity are enjoying a rich vein of form, currently on a four-match winning streak.

Victory on Friday would see them move level on points with Migori and close the gap at the summit to just three points, significantly boosting their promotion credentials.

However, standing in their way is an FC Talanta side desperate to arrest a worrying dip in form.

The Jackson Gatheru-coached outfit has suffered back-to-back defeats, a run that has stalled their promotion ambitions.

Currently ninth on 37 points, the former FKF Premier League side will be targeting a response on two fronts, ending their losing streak and reigniting their push for an immediate return to the top tier.

A win would lift them to 40 points and firmly place them back in contention.

The reverse fixture ended in a barren draw, setting the stage for what is expected to be a tightly contested and decisive encounter.

At the Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KHIBT) grounds in Ngong, Naivas FC will host Kibera Black Stars in another high-stakes clash with promotion implications.

Naivas head into the match seeking redemption after a dramatic six-goal thriller against Fortune Sacco extended their unbeaten run to three matches but delivered only a point, a result that dented their promotion push.

Currently eighth on 38 points, coach Elvis Ayany’s charges understand that only maximum points will suffice if they are to revive their ambitions. Victory would move them to 41 points and strengthen their case for a top-flight slot.

But they face a stern test against an in-form Kibera Black Stars side.

Back-to-back victories have injected renewed belief into the Rubis Energy-backed outfit, who sit seventh on 42 points.

Coach Iddi Badi’s men are firmly in the thick of a tightly contested promotion race involving multiple teams.

A win would elevate them to 45 points and further solidify their push for promotion.

The first leg between the two sides ended goalless, adding extra intrigue as both teams seek to claim bragging rights.

At Gems Cambridge, Nairobi City Stars will face high-flying 3K FC in what promises to be a compelling clash of contrasting fortunes.

City Stars have endured an inconsistent run, managing just one win in their last five matches.

The dip in form has seen them fall to 12th place, leaving them 15 points adrift of the automatic promotion spots.

Coach Salim Babu will be hoping to inspire a turnaround as his side looks to mount a late push.

Maximums points could provide a much-needed boost and lift them to 37 points.

However, they face a formidable opponent in 3K FC, who have been one of the most consistent sides in the league.

The Embu-based outfit is currently on a seven-match unbeaten run and continues to impress in their second spell in the NSL.

Win for coach Nicodemus Omasete’s side would see them reach 50 points, closing the gap on Migori Youth to two points and moving within touching distance of leaders Mombasa United.

League leaders Mombasa United will be in action at Mombasa Sports Club as they host relegation-threatened Vihiga United in a match with implications at both ends of the table.

Mombasa United sit atop the standings with 55 points, holding a three-point cushion.

Coach Gilbert Selebwa’s side will be aiming to extend their lead and pile pressure on second-placed Migori Youth, who are in action later on Sunday.

With little margin for error at the summit, the leaders know that consistency will be key in their pursuit of promotion.

Vihiga United, meanwhile, are battling for survival. Sitting second from bottom, they head into the clash buoyed by a morale-boosting 2-1 win over Kabati Youth.

Victory would lift them to 22 points and significantly boost their survival hopes, while another defeat could deepen their relegation troubles.

Mombasa claimed a convincing 3-1 win in the first leg and will be keen to complete a season double, but Vihiga will be determined to upset the odds.

At Ndalani Complex in Machakos, Mully Children Family (MCF) will take on Kisumu All Stars in a crucial relegation battle.

MCF are enduring a difficult campaign, sitting bottom of the table and winless in their last ten matches.

Despite the arrival of coach Francis Chege, results have remained elusive.

A win would take them to 17 points and offer a glimmer of hope in their fight for survival.

Kisumu All Stars, on the other hand, are looking to pull further away from danger.

Fresh from a 2-0 victory over Gucha Stars, they will be aiming to build momentum and secure their league status.

Victory would see them surpass the 30-point mark and edge closer to safety.

Elsewhere, an all-debutants encounter will see Kabati Youth host Gucha Stars in Murang’a, with both sides eager to assert themselves as the season approaches its finality.
