After a tightly contested first half failed to produce goals, Migori head coach Sammy Otulo turned to his bench in search of inspiration, introducing Mike Isabwa and Victor Juma immediately after the restart.

The tactical switch paid off almost instantly as the hosts finally found a breakthrough after more than an hour of sustained pressure.

The two substitutes combined brilliantly for the decisive moment of the match, with Isabwa delivering a well-weighted pass into the danger area before Juma calmly slotted home past the Kibera goalkeeper to hand Migori maximum points.

The victory lifted the Mozzart Bet-sponsored side to 71 points, enough to return to the summit after spending a week away from the top.

The result also carried an added sense of satisfaction for Migori, who avenged their identical 1-0 first-leg defeat suffered against Kibera in Nairobi earlier in the campaign.

For Kibera Black Stars, the defeat dealt a significant blow to their ambitions of securing a top-five finish as the season enters its decisive stretch.

3K FC 0-0 Equity FC

At Embu Stadium, 3K FC saw their promotion hopes take a hit after being held to a frustrating barren draw by visiting Equity FC.

The stalemate proved costly for the hosts, who dropped two crucial points in the title race and now trail league leaders Migori Youth by two points.

Equity FC were equally left disappointed, with the draw slowing their push for promotion in their debut NSL campaign.

The Bankers now sit three points adrift of the promotion places.

Darajani Gogo 1-0 Vihiga United

Meanwhile, Darajani Gogo returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Vihiga United at Gems Cambridge, ending a difficult five-match winless run.

The important win lifted Gogo to 31 points and saw them climb out of the relegation zone while opening a two-point cushion in their fight for survival.

The defeat for Vihiga United halted the momentum they had built after registering back-to-back victories under returning coach Gilbert Selebwa.

The loss leaves their survival hopes hanging by a thread, with the former FKF Premier League side now facing the daunting task of winning all their remaining four matches to stand a realistic chance of avoiding relegation.

Gucha Stars 2-1 Luanda Villa

In the second fixture of the Awendo double-header, Gucha Stars finally brought an end to their alarming nine-match winless streak after edging Luanda Villa 2-1 in a closely contested affair.

The victory arrived at the perfect time for Gucha, who moved to 38 points and opened up a healthy nine-point gap above the relegation zone, significantly boosting their chances of survival.

The results ended Luanda Villa's impressive four-match unbeaten run.

Despite the setback, they remain 12th on the standings with 39 points and are still firmly in contention for a top-half finish.

Nairobi City Stars 0-0 Mully Children Family (MCF)

Elsewhere, former FKF Premier League side Nairobi City Stars were held to a goalless draw by Mully Children Family (MCF) in the second match of the double-header at Gems Cambridge.

The result left MCF ruing a missed opportunity to strengthen their survival bid as they remain third from bottom on 28 points.

Nonetheless, the side still has a fighting chance of retaining their league status, although they will need strong results in the remaining matches of the campaign.

For Nairobi City Stars, the draw extended their winless run to five matches, underlining a worrying dip in form as the season approaches its conclusion.

The former top-flight side will now be aiming to finish the campaign strongly and avoid ending the season on a disappointing note.
