The influential attacker, who joined Migori Youth at the start of the current campaign from rivals Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA), has endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury early in the season.

The setback ruled him out for nearly half the campaign, denying the Migori-based outfit the services of one of the league’s most exciting attacking talents.

Oyugi’s comeback now arrives at a critical juncture, with Migori Youth firmly in the hunt for promotion to the FKF Premier League.

His return not only strengthens the squad depth but also injects renewed creativity and attacking impetus into a side already showing consistency at the summit of the standings.

The attacker's comeback also marks another significant boost for the squad, coming hot on the heels of the return of speedy winger Fredrick Ologi, further strengthening the team’s attacking options at a crucial stage of the campaign.

Head coach Sammy Otulo could not hide his delight at the winger’s recovery, describing it as a significant reinforcement for the team’s ambitions.

“We are delighted to have Oyugi back. He has been battling a niggly knee injury, but we are happy to have him now fully back with us. His return feels like a new signing and will add the much-needed creativity and impact in our final third,” stated Otieno.

Backed by Mozzart Bet, Migori Youth currently sit top of the 20-team NSL table with 40 points, a position strengthened by their hard-fought 1-0 victory over fellow promotion contenders Nairobi City Stars.

Oyugi is expected to be in contention for his first appearance of the season when Migori Youth face Gucha Stars on Sunday, 22 February, at Gusii Stadium, a fixture that could further cement their grip at the top as the promotion race intensifies.
