Sunday’s 1, March National Super League (NSL) action delivered emphatic statements, and nervy stalemates as eight teams battled for supremacy across four venues.
By the close of play, two sides had strengthened their promotion credentials, while others were left staring anxiously at the looming threat of relegation.

Second-placed Migori Youth FC returned to winning ways in style, 3K FC extended their impressive resurgence, and the woes of Darajani Gogo FC deepened as the battle lines in both the title race and relegation scrap grew sharper.
At Awendo Green Stadium, Migori Youth issued the perfect response to last weekend’s shock 2-0 defeat to Gucha Stars, dispatching Darajani Gogo with authority to reignite their NSL title ambitions.
Red-hot striker Syphas Otieno once again proved decisive.
The league’s leading marksman delivered a clinical first-half brace that effectively sealed the contest before the interval.
His double strike not only secured maximum points but also took his season tally to 14 goals, underlining his importance to Migori’s promotion push.
The victory propelled the Sammy Otulo-coached side to 40 points, trimming the gap to just three behind table-toppers Mombasa United, who remain perched at the summit with 43 points.
In a campaign where momentum has proven vital, Migori’s immediate rebound sends a powerful message to their title rivals.
For Darajani Gogo, however, the outlook remains grim. The defeat leaves them 15th on 22 points, just one above the relegation zone, and extends their winless streak to seven matches.
Alarmingly, they are yet to taste victory since the turn of the year.
For a side only three years into life in the NSL, the creeping threat of demotion is fast becoming a harsh reality.
Over at Embu Stadium, 3K FC continued their resurgence with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Soy United FC in a pulsating encounter.
First-half goals from Ian Owiti and Newton “Westo” Javan Njue laid the foundation for the win, rendering Alfred Ratolo’s second-half consolation insufficient for the visitors.
Clinical finishing and disciplined game management saw the hosts protect their slender advantage to secure a third consecutive victory.
The triumph lifts the Mozzart Bet-backed side to fourth on 37 points, just one behind third-placed Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA).
Remarkably, this surge follows a torrid four-match winless stretch, a turnaround that has not only revived their promotion hopes but also placed them six points off the summit.

With confidence swelling and momentum firmly on their side, 3K have transformed from fringe contenders into genuine challengers in the title conversation.
Elsewhere at Sudi Stadium, former top-flight sides Nzoia Sugar FC and Nairobi City Stars played out a fiercely contested but goalless draw.
While defensively resolute, neither side found the cutting edge required to claim all three points.
The stalemate leaves both teams locked on 29 points in 10th and 11th place respectively, now nine points adrift of the automatic promotion slots. For clubs intent on an immediate return to the FKF Premier League, dropped points at this stage could prove costly.
At Wanguru Stadium, Fortune Sacco FC squandered a golden opportunity to close in on MOFA after being held to a surprising goalless draw by bottom-placed Vihiga United.
The result sees Fortune slip to sixth, missing the chance to tighten their grip on the promotion chase.
For Vihiga United, the point halted a two-match losing streak but extended their winless run to three.
While the draw offers a measure of resilience, it does little to improve their precarious position at the foot of the table with just 16 points.
