The team left for Algeria on Saturday afternoon.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic has confirmed the final squad that has travelled to Morocco for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Niger.

The squad comprised of 23 players left for Morocco Saturday afternoon, and are set to play on Thursday 7 September evening.

The Serbian coach believes the team selected will be able to execute the task at hand.

‘After days of preparations in Kampala, I believe we are at the best level to go and compete against Niger. We already have two foreign players, Taddeo Lwanga and Abdu Aziizi Kayondo, who have been training with us, while the rest will join us in Marrakech," he said.

The game against Niger that will be played at the Grand Stade Marrakech on Thursday evening is the final group game for the Uganda Cranes in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

They are currently third in Group F and must beat Niger to have any chance of securing an AFCON ticket. Algeria, who top the group with 15 points, have already secured a ticket to next year’s championship. Tanzania are in second place with seven points and need a draw against Algeria to qualify.

For Uganda to have a chance, they must beat Niger convincingly and hope that Algeria whips the Taifa Stars.
