Otieno, Odhiambo suspended while Guya is unwell

Bandari head coach Andre Casa Mbungo is worried over the unavailability of three of his central defenders ahead of their next weekend Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match away to Wazito.

The dockers will miss the services of their preferred central defenders Brian Otieno and Bernard Odhiambo who are suspended for the match. Additionally, the club has suffered yet another blow in the department as Dan Guya is down with an illness.

Otieno saw red during their one-all draw against Zoo FC while Odhiambo who doubles up as the club captain has accumulated five yellow cards.

The rock-solid defenders who have started all the fifteen league games and their absence leave Mbungo scratching his head for the best pair from the three available central defenders.

Following the major setbacks, the former AFC Leopards coach may be forced to deploy the experienced Felly Mulumba back to the heart of the defense. The Congolese player who returned to the club last month after a year out had been used as a defensive midfielder in the past rounds.

Mbungo is likely to pair Mulumba with either Harambee Stars trialist Sosthenes Idah or Hassan Iddi

It is a massive blow for me ahead of the Wazito game. Both Otieno and Odhiambo had started all the matches this season and making the unwanted change were not in my plan at all,” he lamented.

Despite the blow, Mbungo has expressed confidence with the available defenders to contain the Wazito forwards.

In as much as I wanted to have the suspended defenders for the Wazito match, I believe their absence is an opportunity for the available ones to show what they can offer to the team,” he added.

Bandari will be looking to stretch their recent unbeaten run to six matches.
