Mbappe's mother earns more than some Real Madrid players

In June 2024, Kylian Mbappe‘s childhood wish was finally fulfilled. At the age of 25, he signed a long-term contract with Real Madrid, his boyhood team. After transferring to PSG from Monaco in 2018, he tried to leave but after enormous pressure from both the club owners and the French politicans, Mbappe extended his contact. The second time around, there was no negotiations as the French striker was determined to go. He signed for Real and became a millionaire as well. His annual wage is 15 million euros per year after tax, while the signing bonus is more than 100 million euros, and is paid in installments. What is not included is the part from the marketing rights, jerseys sold etc.

And thanks to that contact, Mbappe‘s mother has also become a millionaire. In fact, according to Abola, she now earns more than some current Real players. The reason for that is simple. Fayza Mbappe is not only Kylian‘s mother but also takes care of his professional and private life. And she is a hard bargainer. In an interview, she recounted one of the arguments she had with her son about money. She wanted 50% of his salary, and he replied:

"Never! I'm not going to give you half! What's wrong with you? I'm the one who scores the goals, how can you expect 50%?".

She was persuasive, but still failed to get that 50%.

"I'll create added value for you, but we'll split it 50/50. I lowered it to 30% and told him that below that percentage, I'd quit and leave him high and dry, but I didn't. I'm going on vacation to the Maldives and I'm not going to work for him anymore. So he accepted 30%. In the medium term, he'll have to give me 30%" she said. So, if Mbappe‘s salary is 15 million euros net per yeat (without other bonuses), Fayza‘s part is around 4.5 million which is more than some Real players, like Arda Guler, Brahim Díaz, Raul Asencio, Franco Mastantuono, Gonzalo Garcia, Lunin, Endrick and Fran Garcia.
