The winger will be hoping to deliver the maiden league title at KCB

KCB winger James Mazembe has set his eyes on winning the FKF Premier League title with the Bankers this campaign after sealing a move to the club a month ago.

The left-footed winger ended his three-year association with Kariobangi Sharks by terminating his contract at the end of last season. Despite interest from several clubs, he opted to join the Bankers who offered him a good deal.

The Bankers finished in second position last season, narrowly missing out on the league title that was won by Tusker FC on the final day of the campaign.

Last season's runners up will be seeking their first-ever title this season and Mazembe wants to play an integral part in the team's triumph.

"My objective is to help KCB win their maiden title this season. I can only achieve this by stepping on the gas peddle to net more goals and provide more assists," quipped Mazembe," he told the Star.

The winger was not named in the Harambee Stars squad that will play Mali in a two-legged World Cup qualifiers and he says the goal is to work hard so that he can earn a recall to the national side.

"It's now upon me to work harder so that I can be considered for a first-team role in the next assignment. I'm glad I at least made it to the provisional squad," he added.

KCB and Mazembe begun the season on the wrong foot, going down 2-1 to Gor Mahia in the season's opener played in Thika on 25 September. Up next for the Bankers after the international break is AFC Leopards.
