Naibos hosted KCB in an FKF Premier League match on Wednesday, 4 March, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang'ata, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Boniface Omondi gave the bankers the lead in the 10th minute before former Gor Mahia striker Benson Omalla restored parity in the 19th minute from the spot after goalkeeper Elvis Ochieng was judged to have fouled Enock Machaka in the area.

Speaking to the press after the match, Matano blamed his side's wastefulness in front of goal, tearing into Kahiro, who missed a sitter in the match.

We had so many chances to win the game, but we missed them due to a lack of intelligence and desire in front of the goal. Somebody is a striker but does not know why he is there, like Kahiro. You get a free ball, and you cannot score. Yet you are alone,” said Matano.

What is that? As a player, how can you call yourself a striker when you cannot control and score a simple ball like that? We have ourselves to blame,” he added.

Matano went ahead to compare the former Talanta striker with the Naibois attack, consisting of Omalla, his younger brother Dancun, and Machaka, all of whom he believes would have buried the chance.

Nairobi United has quality. If such a chance had fallen to them, they would have scored. In the future, KCB has to do something better than this,” he stated.

The former Tusker FC tactician also took issue with the officiating, especially the decision to award the penalty from which Naibois equalized.

I am not happy with the result, also because from where I sit, that was not a penalty. I think the referee got it totally wrong.

In the end, not even a 62nd-minute red card to Naibois goalkeeper Bernard Jairo could help KCB secure a win.

KCB are eighth on the log with 33 points, while Naibois are 10th with 33 points to their name.
