Matano: It's too early to think of the title

The Brewers sit at the summit of the log with five wins from five games.

Tusker FC have had a blistering start to the season after winning their opening five games but head coach Robert Matano has refused to be drawn into the early title talk.

The Brewers look to have gotten past their poor starts in recent campaigns as they currently lead the standings with a two-point advantage over second-placed Nzoia Sugar who have played a game more.

Tusker are the reigning league champions and also claimed the league last term before the season was annulled by a court ruling.

The former AFC Leopards head coach noted that there are still many games left before the end of the season with their approach being on a game-by-game basis.

“We still have 29 matches left, the end of the season is very far away, we cannot be thinking about the league right now.

We are just taking it game by game but the time will come when we will say we have now won the league but for now we are still competing,” said Matano.

Tusker have been impressive thus far this season as they are the highest league scorers with 10 goals having played a game less than most teams.
