Marseille get Nice reality check: Greenwood and Co. are 'too green' for the title

Yes, the arrivals of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Mason Greenwood and ultimately Adrien Rabiot did heat Olympique Marseille's hopes of ending Paris Saint-Germain's dominance in French football, but no, Roberto De Zerbi's squad is not ready yet.

The Parisians drew against Reims two days ago (1-1), and when Marseille were up to win the derby in Nice, reduce the gap to seven points and make the title race at least slightly interesting, they fell short in Cote d'Azur, getting easily defeated 2-0.

Marseille did control the game with 71% of possession and as many as 18 shots, but in the end, only the goals count and Nice found the net twice thanks to Evann Guessand in the seventh and Mohamed-Ali Cho in the 51st minute, unlike the visitors, whose attempts remained futile.
