PSG dominated Marseille in Le Classique and visiting coach had to apologize again

Recent Le Classique was the derby only on paper. In reality, PSG looked to be light years ahead of Marseille as they thrashed them 5-0 in a game which could have easily ended 8-0, without exaggeration. After such a score, itā€˜s was normal that the emotions were totally oposite in both teams. Luis Enrique saw his president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, waiting for him in the corridors. "Not bad, eh?" he exclaimed before embracing the Qatari executive. Marquinhos, the captain, also greeted his president with a burst of enthusiasm. "It's carnival, it was car-na-val!" he shouted, while one of the scorers Khvicha Kvaratskhelia celebrated by holding up the number five, imitating the final score.

"We showed it during the match; we know it's an important game for PSG. It's a great way to send a message by winning this match. I think that the fans will wake up with huge smiles. We're happy with the work we did in this match and we're going to try to deliver. The second half of the season is important for us" said Ousmane Dembele who scored a brace in a huge win.

As expected, the atmosphere in the other locker room looked more like a funeral. Roberto De Zerbiā€˜s men embarresed themeselves again and their boss had to apologize to the fans (again) for this ā€˜no-showā€˜ in the derby match.

ā€œI have no explanation, that's the biggest problem right now, it's not a good enough match, we have to apologize like we did after the Bruges match. Honestly, if I had the solution to this inconsistency, I'd find it at any cost. It's the first time in my career that I've had a team on such a rollercoaster. I'm not discouraged, I'm sad because we shouldn't be playing like this and losing like this. We'll talk with the management, as we always do, to find solutions, like after Bruges, Rennes, or Lens. I'm not inside the players' heads, I don't know what's going on. We prepared for the match as much as possible. But clearly, we didn't prepare well. We need to understand why. Why do we go to Bruges and play like that? Why do we come here and play like that? And why do we play completely different matches against Lens and Rennes? Why can't he get it right with OM? "Good question, I don't knowā€œ said De Zerbi honestly.
