Maresca's first statement after Chelsea exit: 'I leave with the inner peace'

The focus of the Italian's message was on his successes with the Blues as well as the gratitude to the players and the fans
Enzo Maresca's days in London are finished, and it didn't take long for Chelsea to get over him, as Liam Rosenior has already been appointed as the new manager.
Even though the Italian had his ups and downs with the Blues, no one can say that the spell that brought the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup trophies to the club was unsuccessful.
That also seems to be Maresca's opinion, at least according to the farewell message he announced on his Instagram account - his first statement after leaving Stamford Bridge.
The 45-year-old mainly focused on his achievements with the Blues and expressed gratitude to the players and fans, avoiding (on purpose or not) mention of the management, which suggests that he might hold a grudge over the way they parted ways with him.
"My journey with Chelsea began with the preliminary rounds of the Conference League. I leave with the inner peace of leaving a prestigious club like Chelsea where it deserves to be."
"I want to thank all the Chelsea fans for their support over the last 18 months. Support that was crucial to achieving Champions League qualification, winning the Conference League, and winning the Club World Cup. Victories that I will always hold in my heart."
"A special thank you to all the players who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey" 🗣️

"A special thank you to all the players who have accompanied me on this wonderful journey."
"I wish everyone who has shared every moment with me every success in this second half of the season and in the future. Thank you, CHELSEA 💙 from me and my family."
In the end, even if there were some hard feelings between Maresca and Chelsea's board, they both have to move on. The London side already did, hiring Rosenior, and the Italian may do it in Manchester if he (as rumoured) succeeds Pep Guardiola at Man City at the end of the season.
