Manchester City and Chelsea progress to the last-16 of the EFL Cup after beating Swansea and Wolverhampton, respectively
Far from easy, but the giants prevail! Manchester City and Chelsea have progressed to the next round of the EFL Cup after defeating Swansea City and Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola's side had to dig deep and come from behind to eliminate the second-division side after conceding in the 12th minute through Goncalo Franco, whose screamer stunned the visitors.

Swansea started well, but it had been all Manchester City since then. They started pushing for the equaliser instantly and it paid off near the half-time interval as Jeremy Doku levelled the score. That was just what the favourites needed to get back on track, and with the restored confidence, the Cityzens completed a comeback thanks to an excellent second half.
Omar Marmoush pushed the see-saw to their side, definitely with a nice goal 13 minutes from time, before Ryan Cherki's piece in the stoppage-time wrapped up the tie.

On the other hand, Chelsea had a completely different match at Molineux, setting up a perfect first-half storm. Enzo Maresca's men stormed to a two-goal lead on the wings of Brazilian youngster Andrey Santos and Tyrique George within the opening 15 minutes. When another Brazilian gem, Estevao, found the back of the net close to the half-time break, we were sure the Blues would celebrate a landslide win.
Alas, Wolves had other plans and fought back spectacularly in the second half, pegging one back shortly after the match restarted. When Wolfe pushed his Wolves even closer to the favourites, making it 2-3 with 20 minutes to go, the drama was there out of the blue.
The dying minutes served us two more goals, as Gittens's bomb made it 2-4 before a die-hard host showed they're built differently. Wolfe's brace, however, wasn't enough to take this seven-goal thriller to penalties, as the Blues joined the Cityzens in the quarter-finals.
WHAT A GOAL.
