Liverpool midfielder was sent off against Bournemouth, but the decision was too harsh and now it's annulled

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister's red card in Saturday's 3-1 home win over Bournemouth has been overturned following a successful appeal. The Argentine player was sent off and suspended for three matches after he took down Ryan Christie in the 58th minute at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said the decision was "harsh" and the Reds appealed. Finally, the Football Association's Independent Regulatory Commission removed the suspension.

"An independent regulatory commission has removed Alexis Mac Allister's three-match suspension following a claim of wrongful dismissal," the FA said.

Legendary Gary Lineker had described the sending-off decision as "nonsense" on social media.
