Lukaku to Conte: "You changed me as a player"

Powerful striker wrote an emotional farewell to his former manager

Italian Serie A trophy is finally out of Juventus' hands and it is snatched by their bitter rivals Inter Milan.

Nerazzurri can thank their fiery and already former manager Antonio Conte for the endeavor.

One of the most important players of the winning squad used the opportunity to thank the Italian manager and it was quite a touching farewell.

Romelu Lukaku gave credit to Conte for 'changing' him as a player and helping him rise to incredible levels of dominance when it comes to his position on the pitch.

The 51-year-old spent two years in charge at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and led the team to their first Serie A title in 11 years.

Conte decided to walk away from Inter on Wednesday, despite their successful season, after being told by club president Steven Zhang that he would need cut their wage bill by 20 per cent.

He was also informed that the club needs to generate 122.5 millon USD (13 billion KSH) by selling players in the summer due to their serious financial problems.

Conte brought Lukaku to Inter in 2019, making Inter pay 11.3 billion KSH and bringing an end to Belgian's difficult spell at Old Trafford.

Lukaku resurrected under Conte - in 95 appearances he scored 64 times for Inter and he could not let his former boss leave without a proper goodbye.

Another footballer who played under Conte, ex-Chelsea captain John Terry, who won the Premier League with the Italian in 2016-17, replied to Lukaku's post - 'I loved him mate. Great manager and a great man.'

Additionally, Morocco and Inter defender Achraf Hakimi also thanked Conte on social media.

'Thank you mister for this year together and for everything you have taught me!'I wish you and your Staff the best in the future.'
