The Dutchman will probably sign for Barca, while Konate agreed terms with the Reds and will sign soon
A good team starts with a good defense and Jurgen Klopp knows it. A former defender himself, German tactician had a terrible misfortune with injuries in the back four department, which eventually cost him the Premier League title, so the Reds will make sure it doesn’t happen again. Their first playing in the upcoming transfer window will be a defender – Ibrahima Konate from Leipzig.
The German Bundesliga club had a release clause of little over 6 billion KSH for the Frenchman which wasn’t a problem for Liverpool, until it was revealed that Leipzig wanted the money payed in full, not in monthly instalments. The negotiations stalled, but in the end, The Reds didn’t have much choice and found the money for the deal, which will be announced soon.
This transfer means that Ozan Kabak’s time at Anfield is up. Schalke defender was OK, but certainly didn’t impress Klopp well enough to pay the cash. The German will now look to find another club in the Premier League, as a return to a relegated Schalke doesn’t seem so atractive.
After being unable to charge his services to Liverpool properly, the Reds midfielder will try to make a big pay day in other club, most likely Barcelona. Wijnaldum is definitely old news, as it was known long time ago that the Dutchman will leave the Reds, but is still not known where will he go. The most likely destination all along was Barcelona, but some reports a month ago were suggesting that senior players in the dressing room objected to that, wanting more Barca youth players to be given a chance. But now, it seems that he will (again) definitely come to Camp Nou, as his agents came to the club and had preliminary conversations with Barcelona representatives.
What an emotional rollercoaster the last few days. I’ve received so many great messages from fans, players and friends all over the world. Thank you all so much ❤️????????#YNWA pic.twitter.com/YIAbPAmeOr

Thursday morning saw the representatives arrive at Barcelona 's stadium for the second time in three days, per Marca. Barcelona intends to offer the 30-year-old a contract until June 2024 as they want to wrap up the deal before the European Championship. It was thought that Wijnaldum’s future depends on Koeman, but all these meetings prove that this was not the case. However, potential Memphis Depay’s arrival at Camp Nou will definitely depend on Coeman’s future, or lack of it.
