Naby Keita wants more playing minutes and, allegedly, Los Colchoneros is where he sees himself

It has been a disappointing spell at Liverpool for African midfielder Naby Keita. According to reports in Spain, the 26-year-old is eager to La Liga title contenders Atletico Madrid to revive his injury-struck career.

Guinean has been linked with a move to the La Liga table toppers as he regularly failed to solidify as regular first-team player at Liverpool.

Since joining from RB Leipzig for 73.5 million USD (8 billion KSH) in 2018 Keita made 53 appearances and scored 4 goals.

Spanish outlet AS reports that Keita is keen to leave during the upcoming transfer window as he does not get along with German manager Jurgen Klopp and has offered himself to Atletico.

AS also claims Diego Simeone is a fan of the Guinea international's style but they are not convinced about making a move.

Keita has made just nine starts in total for the Reds this season, leading to speculation regarding his future.

Opposed to the rumours coming from Spain, Klopp has insisted that Keita's future is at Anfield.

'Naby trains really well in the moment, I have to say.' Klopp told reporters.

'He trains really well, like a lot of other players, and looks really good in training. But this year now we need stability.

'We will make changes from time to time definitely, but it's not like we pick now seven, eight, nine players to change and say, 'Maybe we can win it like this.

'The long-term future of Naby Keita, from my point of view, is here, yes.'

It will be a tough decision for Keita if Atletico Madrid win the La Liga trophy and if at the same time Liverpool manage to clinch the Champions League spot. Which will be the 'lesser of two evils'?
