The Reds made the most of the their tie against Brighton and the fact Manchester City and Arsenal drew
We don't wanna brag too much... but, naah, we're doing it anyway.
Yesterday morning, talking about the Manchester City-Arsenal tie, we recollected the old saying that the grass is one that gets hurt when the two elephants fight. And, also, that Liverpool could profit from it.
So, what happened eventually? Exactly what we were suggesting in the prelude of the game.
The Reds came from behind to beat the Seagulls, and the Cityzens and the Gunners shared spoils in a goalless draw at Etihad.
That outcome left us with Liverpool standing alone at the top of the table, two points above Arsenal and three above Manchester City.
Therefore, it's not a surprise that pundits now see the Scousers as favourites to win the Premier League title.
Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane claims that Jurgen Klopp's side is now the top contender for the silverware.
"I think Liverpool, I'd have them favourites. Arsenal are second favourites because of their goal difference. City, with their injuries and the strain of everything - Champions League coming up, same as Arsenal - [third favourites].
"Every time I watch Liverpool, we can look at one or two faults they might have, but they get so many chances every game, they're going to score lots of goals.
"I've said Man City [previously], but what I've seen recently, I'm going to go with Liverpool," concluded Keane.
