All the spotlights are on Man City vs Arsenal, while the Reds are meeting with the Seagulls and could emerge alone at the top of the table (4 pm)

All eyes will be on the Manchester City-Arsenal tie today, but Liverpool could benefit the most from that clash. The Reds are facing Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield and if Arsenal fail to win at Etihad, Jurgen Klopp's team could emerge as the league leader.

The Reds currently sit second in the table, level on points with the league-leading Gunners and a point ahead of City.

Klopp will have several injury problems going into the fixture against Roberto De Zerbi's side. Eight players are set to be sidelined with injuries continuing to plague the Reds this season.

Forward Diogo Jota has been recovering from a knee injury, and he's still not in full training.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been recovering from a knee injury for the majority of 2024 and although he is stepping up his recovery, the full-back is not expected to be available until next month. Andy Robertson's appearance is also in doubt after suffering an ankle injury during the international break.

Alisson Becker and Thiago Alcantara continue their recoveries from hamstring injuries, with Joel Matip is recovering from an ACL injury. Other players out include Stefan Bajcetic and Ben Doak.

Speaking about those issues, Klopp said ahead of the Brighton tie.

"If you want to win anything, you need to play top, top, top football, you need to be lucky - what I hope we are from now on with injuries - and then let's see what we can do.

"It's all tricky and we need luck, with injuries we didn't have that so far. Hopefully, we have it now with boys coming back. We need them," concluded he.
