'Ligue 1 is not boring, it's much better than I thought'

PSG coach Luis Enrique disagrees with Thierry Hendry
Atomic football at Stamford Bridge, everything was bursting with intensity between Chelsea and Manchester City. Eight goals, a number of chances, reversals - probably the best match of the season. During that time, Lens and Marseille tried to ‘kill’ the football, there was no shot in the box until injury time. Rennes and Lyon was only slightly better. The league is shortened in order to gain more quality, and only 12 goals were scored in the last round before international break. Only slightly better was the round before, when 13 was scored. It's pretty eye-popping, the inefficiency irritated Thierry Henry, but there are those who oppose the coach of the young French national team. Maybe because they expected the situation to be worse.
Luis Enrique has not been in France for long, this summer he sat on the empty bench of Paris Saint-Germain. He was given an expensive toy with which he shouldn't have a problem in League 1 - although, not everything is going smoothly - but the Arab owners are not even interested in that trophy, they are still after the European one. Today he faces a derby with Monaco at the Parc des Princes, and if he loses or draws, the Saints could drop to second place. There was no detailing about Monaco, but there was about football in France.
"We have elimination games in the Champions League, it depends on them whether we go through or not. But League 1 games are also important. The goal is to win the championship. We are ambitious" said Luis Enrique and pointed out that the Monaco derby is not decisive for the outcome of the championship race:
"We are playing against a direct rival for the title, but there are still many games to go. This one is not decisive, however, we want to win. It will be a tough match, although I haven't seen an easy one in League 1 so far."
Luis Enrique does not share the opinion of many that League 1 is boring and that the champion is known in advance.
"League 1 boring? Not. Teams create many chances, everyone can win. The game is open, it's much better than I thought. When we don't know things, we repeat what we've heard, and that's stupid. It is a good league, powerful, with players who are 'exported' to other champions, especially to England".
Paris Saint-Germain, like many other clubs, was hit by the FIFA virus. Warren Zaire Emery and Marquinhos were injured during their stay in the national team. However, the Spanish strategist did not want to deal with the hot topic and create a problem for himself.
"I don't want to get into that kind of controversy. There is a calendar, that's how it is. I try to control what I can control. We have enough resources. Whether I like it or not, the schedule is like that and I adapt to the situation. I hope that all the players will be able to recover from their injuries. Not only the players of Paris Saint-Germain, but also of other clubs" concluded Luis Enrique.
