
Kenya's Harambee Stars stagnate in latest FIFA world rankings

In Africa, Morocco remains the highest-ranked team as they are placed 13th globally with Senegal coming second in the CAF region and 20th in the World rankings
Harambee Stars have not moved a place in the latest FIFA World rankings released after the conclusion of the November International break on Thursday.
Kenya played two matches during the FIFA Calendar break and lost 2-1 to Gabon in their opening FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, before seeing off Seychelles 5-0 in their second qualifier game played in Ivory Coast.
This run in November has kept the Engin Firat-coached side stagnated in 110th position, and will hold the rank until the next international break in March next year.
The latest ranking puts Kenya way ahead of regional rivals Comoros, Tanzania, and Sudan who are ranked 119, 121, and 128 respectively. Rwanda is ranked 133, Burundi is ranked 139 and Ethiopia comes in at 145. Uganda is the best-placed East African nation in the ranking at position 92.

Kenya’s Group F rivals Ivory Coast sit 50th in the World, while Gabon are in 82nd place. The Gambia are way below Kenya in the 126th place, with Burundi in the 139th place. Seychelles have dropped four places down and are in the 199th place after heavy defeats to Kenya and Ivory Coast.
Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 champions Argentina have maintained their status at the helm of the world ranking, while runners-up France are second, with England closing the best three teams in the world.
On the back of an impressive run in November, Belgium, are ranked fourth, while Brazil, despite back-to-back defeats last month, sealed fifth place on the rankings as per the world football governing body.
