Kenyan duo of midfielder Lawrence Juma and goalkeeper Fredrick Odhiambo are set to make their league debuts for AS Kigali later today when the Rwandese top flight kicks off.

The Andre Cassa Mbungo-coached side finished third last season and will be hoping to start their new campaign on a high against Etincelles at 4 PM EAT after bringing in fresh players to reinforce the team in their quest for a maiden league title.

The pair made the switch to the Rwandese side from Sofapaka, with each of them penning a two-year deal.

Besides the two Kenyan players, former Gor Mahia forward Jacques Tuyisenge is another acquisition for the side, having joined recently from defending Champions APR FC.

Juma and Odhiambo bagged their first title in Rwanda on Sunday as AS Kigali side outwitted reigning league champions APR 5-3 on post-match penalties to clinch the Super Cup.

AS Kigali will also be playing in the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup where they will take on Djibouti Telecom of Djibouti in the preliminary round.

Kenyan coach Frank Ouna will be on the touchline as his side Musanze FC take on APR in the opening match later in the day in the late kick off at 7:30 PM.
