Ismael González was back on the field after three months for Las Palmas.

Kenyan international Ismael González made his first appearance for Las Palmas in over three months as they beat strugglers Albacete 3-2 in the Spanish Segunda División.

The last time the Harambee Stars midfielder made an appearance for Las Palmas was in the 3-2 win over Almería on Valentines Day.

González has been on the periphery at Las Palmas this season after being promoted to the senior team back in October 2020.

The 26-year-old has only been trusted with three starts this season and has made six appearances in total for La Union Deportiva.

Sergio Araujo broke the deadlock for Las Palmas in the ninth minute by beating the Albacete offside trap to mark his 150th appearance for the club with a goal.

Former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese doubled Las Palmas lead in the 41st minute as he finished from a tight angle.

Tana pulled one back for Albacete in the 66th minute, pouncing on a mistake by Éric Curbelo who failed to clear his lines.

Araujo restored Las Palmas two-goal cushion in the 74th minute as he pickpocketed the ball from Sepp Mvondo to fire the ball into the net.

González was given the nod in the 79th minute, coming on for Éric Curbelo as they aimed to secure the three points.

Sepp Mvondo atoned for his error in the 89th minute going on a solo run before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Las Palmas held on for the win with the result confirming Albacete’s relegation to the Segunda B.
