Kenyan midfielder joins Swedish giants AIK after turning 18

Wilson signed the deal of his 18th birthday, marking start to professional football
National U20 football team captain, and former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder, Stanley Wilson has finally secured contract with Swedish top tier giants AIK after an eight-month long wait.
Wilson, started training with the club in January this year, but had to wait for his contract for eight months as he had not turned 18 years.
After it emerged that he couldn't complete the deal before attaining the required age, Wilson ,had to be patient enough as he, returned to Sharks for the second leg of the past season.
The central midfielder can however afford a smile at last after putting pen to paper, on his birthday, marking the start of life at the professional level.
"AIK Football has agreed with Kariobangi Sharks on the transfer of 18-year-old midfielder Stanley Wilson. The agreement between the two parties is valid until 31 December 2027," read a confirmation from AIK.
Signs of good things to come, from the player, started to show when he leapt from National Super League side, Darajani Gogo to Kariobangi Sharks last year, a move that saw him debut in the Kenyan top tier.
He would earn his maiden Harambee Stars call up in September, last year, following his impressive start in the league with Sharks, although he didn't make to the final team.
Wilson was one of the best performers during the CECAFA U18 tournament held in Kisumu last year where Kenya finished second behind Uganda.
His good show at club level saw him elevated to the U20 team, Rising Stars, skippering it to a second-place finish during a Four Nations tournament held in Malawi, in March.
Wilson hopes to follow the footsteps of Eric 'Marcelo' Ouma and other compatriots who have passed through the club in recent times.
This is not the first time AIK are shopping in the Kenyan market having lured the 2020-2021 FKFPL's Young Player of the Season award winner Henry Meja.
Former AFC Leopards midfielder Collins Sichenje is also contracted to the club.
