The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Kenyan journalist Quintine Indeche as a Marketing and Communication Officer for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Indeche will join a select team of experts drawn from across the continent and will be tasked with shaping how the World experiences the 2024 CHAN.

The scribe is currently the Marketing and Media Officer at FKF Premier League side Ulinzi Stars and also supports the media team at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Indeche’s appointment comes on the back of a previous success story, where he was among 17 specialists from across Africa who featured at the CAF 2025 U 20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

In the continental tournament that was held in April and May, Indeche served as Kenya's Media Officer.

The appointment comes as a boost to his first-rising career in sports media and communication and affirms CAF's intention and efforts to build the capacity of nations hosting continental tournaments.

Indeche, who is also a military officer, serving with the Kenya Defense Forces is not new to football.

The 28-year-old was an active player and turned out for Ulinzi Stars as a full back before hanging his boots to join the club's media department.

His transition was largely motivated by his graduation with a degree in Business and Information Technology from Zetech University in 2020.

Indeche's appointment adds to the recent appointments by CAF to Kenyan match officials who will take part in the much awaited CHAN.

Meanwhile, Dickens Nyargowa Mimisa was appointed as center referee, while Samwel Mwangi and Stephen Yiembe were appointed as assistant referee and Video Assistant Referee (VAR) respectively.
