Kenyan giants AFC Leopards finally appoint substantive team manager

Tom Juma will now full focus on his duties as the Assistant Manager.

After more than two years without an outright Team Manager, AFC Leopards have appointed Albert Edson Wesonga to fill up the role that was doubled up by Tom Juma.

Since the appointment of head coach Patrick Aussems back in February 2020, Tom Juma who served as the Team Manager was elevated to the assistant manager role.

The 1998 Premier League champions revealed the appointment of Wesonga as their new Team Manager having served under a similar capacity at National Super League (NSL) Dandora Love.

“AFC Leopards has appointed Mr. Albert Edson Wesonga as the new club's Team Manager.

He takes over from Tom Juma, our current Assistant Coach who has been acting as our team manager after being promoted in February 2020.

Wesonga has held the same position at former Kenya Premier League side Nakumatt/Mt.Kenya/Dandora Love FC. He was also the club CEO at Nakumatt FC. Welcome to AFC Leopards Mr.Wesonga,” read an update from AFC Leopards.

Juma remains Aussems’ assistant heading into next season with the coach expected back in the country before the start of the 2022-2023 campaign.

Since conducting elections at the end of June, Ingwe have been stepping up their preparations for the new season by tying down Maxwell Mulili and Saad Musa with new contracts.
