The former Kakamega Homeboyz attacker wasted no time in stamping his authority on the contest, breaking the deadlock barely a minute after kick-off to hand the hosts a dream start.

His early strike set the tone for a dominant first-half display from the reigning champions, who looked sharp, purposeful and ruthless in the final third.

Dynamos doubled their advantage two minutes past the quarter-hour mark through Ronel Manyanga.

The midfielder calmly brought down Kondwani Chiboni’s well-weighted delivery before firing clinically at the near post to stretch the lead.

It was a goal that underlined the Kitwe-based side’s fluid attacking movement and growing confidence as they seized control of proceedings.

Shumah was, however, not done yet. At the stroke of half-time, the Harambee Stars forward struck again to complete his brace and hand Dynamos a commanding 3-0 cushion heading into the break.

The goal effectively killed off the contest early, reflecting both his sharp positional awareness and predatory instincts inside the box.

Despite a more measured approach in the second half, Dynamos remained compact throughout.

Green Buffaloes attempted to claw their way back into the tie, pushing numbers forward in search of a lifeline, but the hosts stood firm.

While the visitors attempted to salvage the scoreline, Aba Yellow expertly managed the closing stages to secure maximum points on home soil.

The victory carries significant weight in the title race.

The eight-time Zambian Super League champions surged to the summit of the 18-team standings with 45 points, moving two clear of second-placed Red Arrows, albeit having played a game less.

With 13 matches remaining, the result firmly positions Dynamos for a potential back-to-back league triumph as they seek to assert domestic dominance once again.

For Shumah, the brace was equally momentous on a personal level.

The 2023 Mozzart Bet Cup Most Valuable Player (MVP) took his tally to nine league goals in his maiden season in Zambia, strengthening his case in the race for the Golden Boot.
