After weeks of negotiations, the two parties signed an agreement that Family Bank described as “a transformative partnership” aimed at supporting both the club and the wider community.

“Today marks the beginning of a transformative partnership between Family Bank Limited and the Administration Police Service’s Football Team—APS Bomet,” read a statement from the bank.

The partnership will focus on team operations, youth development, and financial literacy initiatives under the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

“As part of our CSR initiatives, Your Preferred Bank for Biashara is proud to sponsor the team’s operations, development programs, and financial literacy activities, building a stronger foundation for youth and community empowerment. For us, this is more than football – it’s about uplifting lives, strengthening communities, and walking the journey together,” the statement added.

Club chairman Bishop Dr. Fred Akama, in an earlier interview, welcomed the deal and described it as a turning point for APS Bomet, who are seeking to professionalise their operations and establish themselves among the elite clubs in the country.

“We want to thank Family Bank for agreeing to come on board. Getting partners in Kenyan football is never easy, and their faith in us is a huge boost. They will help ease our financial obligations, and with such support, the future of this club looks bright,” Akama said.

He further revealed that the club is in discussions with more potential partners as part of a long-term plan to achieve financial stability and sporting success.

“We want to do things differently. Our aim is not to live hand-to-mouth but to establish stability that will help us achieve our goal of winning silverware within the next three years. With more partners joining us, things can only get better,” he added.

The partnership announcement comes just days after APS Bomet staged one of the most successful fundraising events ever seen in Kenyan football. The Wednesday night fundraiser raised nearly Ksh 40 million, with contributions flowing in from corporates, politicians, and well-wishers. The single largest donation was Ksh 12 million from an anonymous supporter, while Family Bank chipped in with Ksh2 million.
