The tournament winner will represent the CECAFA zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025, scheduled for later this year

Two-time Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women's Premier League champions, Kenya Police Bullets FC, have discovered their path to the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League after being drawn in Group A of the CECAFA qualifiers to be hosted in Nairobi from Thursday, 4 to Tuesday, 16 September 2025.

The draw, which was held in Nairobi on Tuesday, 26 August, brought together nine women's teams from the region.

Guided by Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba, the Bullets will face Eritrea’s FC Denden and Uganda’s Kampala Queens in their group.

Eritrea’s champions, Denden SC, will be making their debut at this regional stage.

Nine teams have confirmed participation, with defending champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) aiming to retain their crown.

The tournament winner will represent the CECAFA zone at the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025, scheduled for later this year.

CECAFA set the competition ahead of Thursday, 19 September, to allow players to feature in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Defending champions CBE and South Sudan’s Yei Joint Stars remain the only sides to have featured in all four previous editions of the qualifiers.

The teams lined up for this year’s qualifiers include:

Top Girls Academy FC from Burundi.

Kenya Police Bullets representing Kenya.

Yei Joint Stars FC from South Sudan.

JKT Queens from Tanzania.

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia FC from Ethiopia.

Kampala Queens from Uganda.

Rayon Sports Women FC from Rwanda.

JKU Princesses FC from Zanzibar.

FC Denden SC from Eriteria

Having retained their league title last season, Kenya Police Bullets will make their second consecutive appearance on the continental stage.

Last year, they fell agonizingly short, losing 1–0 to CBE in the CECAFA final, missing out on a historic first qualification for Kenya since Vihiga Queens’ success in 2021.

In July, the FKF First Instance Board granted Kenya Police Bullets a CAF club licence, marking the first issued under the current FKF administration.

This licence confirmed their place in the 2025/26 CAF Women’s Champions League and reflects progress in women’s football development in Kenya.

The team’s licensing followed CAF’s stringent evaluation across five pillars: Sporting, Infrastructure, Personnel and Administration, Legal, and Financial.
